On October 1st, 2018, South Korea celebrated its 70th Armed Forces Day. This year, the Armed Forces did away with large-scale review or parade that were featured in previous years' celebrations. Instead, a much smaller elebration was held at the War Memorial of Korea in Seoul. It was a much more inclusive event that celebrated contributions made by individual soldiers and their family members. The event was also open to the public.
The celebration's highlight was the showcase of South Korea's Warrior Platform project and other future warfare-related capabilities. It also included taekwondo demonstration and performance by the popular singer Psy.
