Kia KM450, locally designated as K311, is a light utility vehicle in service with the Republic of Korea Armed Forces and several other Asian, African, and South American nations. It is a modernized and license-produced version of the venerable American M715 design and is still produced today. As of 2013, a single vehicle cost 52 million won ($44,284).
When South Korea deployed troops to Iraq in 2004, it was in desparate need of armored utility vehicles. In addition to sending K200 and Barracuda armored personnel carriers, South Korea also sent up-armored KM450 trucks as part of its 3,000-man reconstruction unit to Irbil, Iraqi Kurdistan.
Since then, armored KM450 has been a staple of South Korea's overseas units, serving in locations like the Philippines, Haiti, Afghanistan, South Sudan, and Lebanon.
